A couple of weeks ago, I went back to my home town to do a pre-wedding shoot of a old friend Jo. Jo and Stuart are getting married at the end of February.
I’ve known Jo for about 15years. We sadly lost contact for many years though. But thanks to the joys of Facebook became reacquainted, so to speak i.e. we could few each others pages. I saw that Jo had set a date and a venue for her big day and I jokingly stated “I know an excellent photographer”. Well she did contact me. But it wasn’t as easy as that to get the job, oh no. I still had to go through all the pitching and then she made me wait 3 weeks for an answer. It was nice to do it properly and it also meant I got to meet Stuart as well, who seems a really cool guy.
I really am glad that I am Jo & Stuart’s Wedding Photographer, as I know it will be an amazing day. A truly lovely couple with a bright future ahead of them.
This wedding in September of this year was very very close to my heart as it was the wedding of Mick to Julie a.k.a Mum.
Earlier this year my Mum and Stepfather informed me that they were planning on marrying this year. Obviously Rachel and I were over the moon. Then the craziness started. Planning the date. May was a no no as Rachel was due with Eli their first grandchild on 13th May which is also Mick’s birthday. So Mum asked “what about June”? “Sorry mum booked”, was my reply. Mum “July”? “Sory booked”, “August”? I respond giving a glimpse of hope “I think I free the last Saturday in August”, Mum’s excited “Great I’ll…..”. I interrupt “no sorry I’m wrong booked”. Mum responds “Okay September”? Finally I say “Yeah I’ve got two Saturdays free in September”. Mum finally thinks we got somewhere “Great she says what Saturdays”? The realisation of mu uselessness “Don’t know mum I’ll check the diary and get back to you”. In the end my Mum rang me whilst she was booking the venue ” they have the 3rd or the 10th September free, which one can I get married on son”? I knew I had a booking on either the 3rd or the 10th September but for the life of me didn’t know which. In the end Rachel was called and as always saved the day and I’m free on the 3rd. Obviously I had to shoot their wedding after all the hassle I caused. Who would have a son as a wedding photographer?
Mum asked Rachel to be her maid of honor. And Mick asked me to be his best man. I as honored nervous though as I knew that being the best man and the photographer was a big enough tasks separately let along together.
Mum got ready at my adoptive Grandfathers house. Her make up was done by my amazing wife Rachel
My adopted Grandfather Brian and Mum
I’ve never seen Mick so nervous
My younger cousin is studying A Level photography, good image not sure of her subject matter though? Different to include a picture of myself in the blog
The weather was amazing and everyone had a lovely day. Rachel and I was exhausted by the finish though. But we were made up that there day was perfect
To Mum and Mick we hope you like your pictures? We love you and wish you all the happiness for the future. Thank you letting us be part of your big day. Rachel and Aaron xxxx
wow thank you so much my amazing son and to your beautiful wife.
you made our day perfect with your wonderful photot’s and we will treasue them forever.

once again so grateful.
love you my clever son.xxxx
Shelley & Dan were married at Ashwells in Brentwood Essex.
I meet Shelley in March 2010 at a wedding fayre actually at Ashwells, It was clear from the start that Shelley was a girl that knew what she wanted. Her precise words to me were “I love your work and if you do a digital bound album, I’ll book you”.
They were married outside in the grounds of Ashwells
There was many tears on the day especially by Jade, Shelley’s daughter and little Dan, Shelley’s younger brother
I must say that Dan is by far the least nervous groom that I have meet. He seemed to take everything in his stride. Including the suit company they were hiring from getting there orders totally wrong and meaning they had 24hours to source new suits from a alternative supplier.
I was aware that Shelley is quite creative. But I had no idea on just how creative she was. But was pleasantly blown away when there first dance song was recorded by her.
Its been pretty crazy this end for the last 3months what with the all the weddings.
To make things even more bonkers this end. My lovely Rachel gave birth 3months ago to our wonderful boy Eli. We knew the baby was going to be big but just not how big. The little big man topped the scales at a impressive 11lbs 4oz’s. I’ve stuck some images below for you to look at.
Other exciting news. I have a new gallery on the website that I’m massively impressed with. Big thanks to Malcolm at www.directionforward.com for sorting that out.

Please see below for images of today’s pre-wedding shoot of Rachel, Brendon and their lovely daughter. It was a pleasure to work with them and I cannot wait for their big day
The lovely Charlotte and Glenn were married on 16th July 2011 at the beautiful Maidens Barn in Essex. Both kept in amazing spirit considering the heavens decided to open and rain literally all day. Clearly the gods were smiling on them as the sun decided to come out and play for a hour, allowing us to do some lovely shots outside in the grounds.
It was an absolute pleasure to shoot their day. A lovely couple that kept me laughing and made my job easy.
Charlotte & Glenn sourced the following suppliers for their wedding:
On the 1st July 2011 Helen & Stuart were married at Penshurst Church with their reception being held at Coltsford Mill, Oxted. A lovely venue for a lovely couple making a perfect day. Please enjoy the pictures of their wedding.
I have been busy recently doing the pre-wedding shoots for my July weddings.
What is a pre-wedding shoot I here you ask ? It is basically a photo-shoot of the couple 3to6 months before there wedding date.
Why would they need a photo-shoot if they have only booked you for their wedding photography? Another good question. I include this as a complimentary part of my wedding packages. This helps the couple to get used to and feel at ease in front of the camera and produce the confidence that great images are guaranteed on their day. The meeting is not just about them getting to know me and my style and approach, it helps me get to know how best to shoot them. And its alot of fun also just take a look at the lovely couples below.

Helen & Stuart
I’ll post some more pre-wedding shoots in a couple of weeks time.
Thank you for all the comments and responses to my last blog all well wishes have been passed onto Rachel, 4weeks to go very excited.
I wanted to thank everyone for all the support that they have given me over the last two years. I’m busier than ever with regard to weddings and this is due to all the lovely people I meet at wedding fayres and recommendations from friends and former customers. So thank you. That got Rachel (for people new to my blog that is my lovely wife) and I thinking recently and so we have decided to give £50 of John Lewis vouchers to any one that recommends a wedding couple to me that books an “Aaron Tommasi Wedding Photography Gold package”. Just get the couple to tell me that I was recommended to them by you and I’ll send you the voucher upon confirmation of their booking. So everyone is a winner. I get to do what I love, the couple get amazing wedding photographs, a handmade Queensberry wedding album and you get £50 of vouchers.
Life has been crazy since my last blog. You could actually say that my life has been turned upside down and in the best way ever. Rachel and I are to become parents for the first time. Rachel is currently 30 weeks gone. And is absolutely glowing. The pregnancy has been tough on her, but I think she has dealt with it incredibly well and is always in high spirits even if she doesn’t feel like it. She is my hero and I did not think it was possible to love her more, how wrong was I.
Business wise though and it feels like I have been in the middle of wedding fayre season forever. I’m only kidding, I love meeting couples that are planning their wedding. I just love everything about weddings to be honest. I have been picking my camera up obviously, its not just be all wedding fayres. I have just been a bit slack in blogging about my photography jobs (sorry, I will try harder to keep everyone updated). Just to make up for it I’ve attached some photograph that I took of the lovely Lizzy Platt in Bournemouth a couple of week ago for her acting portfolio. I wish her the best of luck in her acting career and hope these images help you on your way.
